Who are your musical influences?

How do you write your songs? Do you start with the music or the lyrics.

I usually begin with getting a lyric in my head which usually ends up being the hook of the song.

Can you play any instruments if so which ones and do you have a favourite.

I play guitar and mandolin. Though I don't play mandolin as often, I think it's actually my favorite because it's just a fun, light little instrument to play.

How did you get into music, was it from an early age?

I have sung since I can remember...like most kids, to the radio or in the tub! I've always loved singing in the church choir and doing special music for the worship service.

Around college, I guess it was, I started joining bands and getting more comfortable being on stage.

Do you have any musical training?

I have a Bachelor of Music degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Which of your songs are you most proud of?

Well, the song that I feel has touched the most people, (as far as I know), and is mentioned a lot from my CD, is "If I Touched You". That is still probably the most spiritually personal song I have written. "When You Hold Me" is a favorite of mine too, because I wrote it for my husband. And, "The Well" was birthed from a dream I had. I feel like it was 'given' to me in that dream.....

Where were you born, and do you still live there?

I was born in Indiana, and moved back to Indiana from Southern California about 4 years ago.

Where would you like to see yourself in five years time?

I'm not sure. I know I will still be writing. And I hope to have released another CD, maybe a video. I would love to pitch some of my songs out there for other artists or have one be picked up for a TV or Movie....that would be pretty awesome!

What’s your favourite of all of your songs?

It would have to be "If I Touched You".

How long did it take to write and record your‘album?

About 2 years from start to finish.

What is the best Live / recording moment you’ve ever had?

When I played the House of Blues in Anaheim, California.

Where was your first public performanceIn a bar in Indianapolis, Indiana. That was the night that I walked off of the stage feeling like, "Wow! I love this!"
