Who are your musical influences?

Lots of different ones. Everything from Neil Diamond to Genesis.

How do you write your songs? Do you start with the music or the lyrics?

I usually start with the music, either on Guitar or Piano.

Can you play any instruments if so which ones and do you have a favourite?

I mainly play guitar but I wouldn’t consider myself a “guitarist” . I write a bit on piano and enjoy thrashing around on drums occasionally.

How did you get into music, was it from an early age?

I started out playing the Snare drum in a scout band and just progressed from there on to a drum kit and then guitar.

Do you have any musical training?

I had drum and classical guitar lesson, but not at the same time.

Which of your songs are you most proud of?

If someone tells me that they have enjoyed one of my songs and that it has meant something to them, then I am proud of that song.

Where were you born, and do you still live there?

I was born in Kingston upon Hull. I live in Spain at the moment.

Where would you like to see yourself in five years time?

On a beach in California.

What’s your favourite of all of your songs?

I don’t really have a favourite, they each represent something or someone different.

How long did it take to write and record your album?

The songs were written over a number of years and the album took about 2 years to record although there were periods during those 2 years when I wasn’t recording.

What is the best Live / recording moment you’ve ever had?

Recording with John Entwistle and Gordon Giltrap.

Where was your first public performance?

The school play. My Fair Lady.
